Nestled in the corner of Roe and William Streets, State Theatre Centre of West Australia, designed by Kerry Hill, presents contemporary performing arts, such as theatre and dance. Local, national and international talents can be seen, with a focus on diverse and distinctive works. The centre was built with a need for a contemporary and city based theatre for the people of Western Australia and was officially opened in 2011.
The centre comprises of the 575-seat Heath Ledger Theatre, Studio Underground, a flexible performance space capable of seating 200+, a multi-purpose outdoor events space and spacious foyers. Each performance space has a strong visual identity to suit the contemporary building. There are also two rehearsal rooms available and two private suites for flexible use.
The Foyer Bars can also offer guests a selection of premium wines, beers and spirits, as well as tasty light snacks. Interval drinks can be pre-ordered to save the queues.
The venue is available for hire for themed events and entertainment with catering offered.
