Henley Brook has a nice setting and a relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere, but overall the experience was fairly average. The food was mediocre and nothing really stood out. It was decent enough, but not memorable or worth going out of the way for. Service was the main letdown. The staff came across as having quite an attitude, and the ordering process was confusing. We were told at the counter to order drinks at the bar, only to be sent back to the counter from the bar to order coffee — both times as if the process was obvious to any visitor, which it clearly wasn’t. With better service and clearer processes, this place could be much better. As it stands, there are stronger options just across the road.

Food -8/10 Please do get their jalapeño poppers, they are to absolutely die for. This is an amazing place to go to with family or friends on a weekend, there’s live music and there’s farms around so you can say hello to sheep and cows. It’s a huge outdoorsy place, perfect for a picnic. The vibes are super chill and very family friendly. I attended a work get together here and it was so so fun. The place is absolutely beautiful, little bit of a drive from city but totally worth it. Even the drive is gorgeous.

We had the BEST lunch today for my mum's birthday! The service was exceptional and the food absolutely delightful! The fish tacos and bao buns were delicious and fresh, and the squid was melt-in-the-mouth tender. The chicken parmies got two thumbs up, and my dad loved his Thai Beef Salad. The sticky date pudding was tasty and served in very generous portions; it was so yummy we polished off the lot. Mum was very pleased to have tea-leaves rather than a tea bag, and the coffee was excellent, a lovely end to a pretty much perfect meal. Will definitely be back and highly recommend The Hen!

Tuesday lunch in the school holidays, quiet day which made for a relaxed lunch. Food was impressive for such a large establishment, not mass produced rubbish like somewhere else nearby that’s for sure! Full of flavour, came out hot and fairly quickly too. Service staff from entry to leaving were absolutely welcoming and attentive, glass ware picked up within minutes of finishing drinks. Food plates cleared with a smile. One curly hair young fella needs a little training, let napkins blow everywhere when taking plates and didn’t bother to collect them. Highlights- octopus with bean salad superb! Squid was tenderly cooked, beautiful flavour, and a huge portion! Cheeseburger pizza, soooo good Nasi goreng $16 special, a little less soy and a little more authentic would help, but worth its value. Kids had a blast in the natural style open lawn, where you can watch them afar comfortably from your table still.
