Dual Nature: Australian Landscape Art By The Coast

Discover Western Australia through the eyes of two local artists at Dual Nature, a new exhibition at Palette Fremantle, just metres from the beautiful waters of Leighton Beach.

Running from 13 October to 8 November 2026, Dual Nature brings together original paintings by Western Australian artists Tammi de Rooy and Sarah Eve, whose work celebrates the Australian landscape through two distinctly different perspectives.

Tammi de Rooy

Tammi de Rooy’s detailed oil paintings capture the quieter and more atmospheric side of Western Australia. Inspired by her upbringing in the Wheatbelt and travels throughout regional WA, her work explores changing light, native wildflowers, trees, open country and those fleeting moments when a familiar landscape is transformed by weather, dawn or seasonal change.

Sarah Eve

Sarah Eve approaches the landscape through Abstract Realism, using expressive colour, layered acrylic paint and texture to explore ancient geology, dramatic rock formations, waterways, gorges and coastlines.

Inspired by places across the Pilbara, Kimberley and Margaret River regions, her paintings reflect a fascination with the immense geological forces and deep time that have shaped the Western Australian landscape.

Together, the two artists create a conversation between the fleeting and the enduring, atmosphere and structure, intimacy and scale.

Palette Fremantle

Located beside Leighton Beach, Palette Fremantle combines gallery and café in a relaxed coastal setting. Visitors can view the exhibition while enjoying coffee, breakfast or lunch, then take a walk along the beach or continue exploring nearby North Fremantle and Fremantle.

The setting makes Dual Nature an easy addition to a coastal day out and offers visitors an opportunity to experience original Western Australian artwork inspired by many of the landscapes travellers come to WA to discover.

Opening Reception

Visitors are also invited to the free exhibition opening on Thursday 15 October from 5pm to 7pm.

Meet Tammi de Rooy and Sarah Eve, explore the artworks and hear more about the landscapes, travels and creative processes behind the exhibition while enjoying an informal early evening gathering near the Indian Ocean.

Whether you are visiting Perth, exploring Fremantle, passionate about art and nature, or simply looking for something different to experience by the coast, Dual Nature offers a relaxed way to discover contemporary Western Australian art.
