Opened up by the Romeo family in 2005 after a long history of providing Italian goods in Australia, the Mondo Nougat Factory of Swan Valley provides an insight for visitors into the production of Mondo nougat, whilst also offering plenty of tasty treats to take home. Sticking to their motto of ‘tradition, innovation and excellence’, the Romeo family offer a range of nougat products made from five simple ingredients, with a recipe dating back generations to the family’s home town of Taurianova in Italy. Products are free from gluten and wheat, as well as some products being lactose free.
Nougat is an important part of Italian life, and when the Romeo family saw how much Australia loved their nougat, they couldn’t help but expand their factory into a café and retail outlet too. Free tastings as well as school excursions and educational visits are available, not to mention the chance to become a nougatier for the day!
