I ordered takeaway and specifically requested medium spicy, but this is what I received. As you can see from the photo, the dish was covered with a huge amount of freshly chopped chilli, making it far hotter than what most people would consider medium. I enjoy spicy food, but this was excessive and completely overpowered the flavours of the dish. If the chef wanted to make it spicier, it would have been much better to provide the extra chilli on the side so I could adjust the heat to my own taste.
Wonderful food the Massaman curry is amazing. But all dishes were fresh and delicious. Very quick service too
We visited the King & I on a Tuesday night & it was surprisingly very busy. Even so there was no wait for a table as they have several large dining rooms. They have a large room at the back which would be great for private functions. The decor & crockery were quintessentially Thai which was lovely. Toilets, exceptionally clean. It is BYO & the corkage fee is very reasonable. They do have non alcoholic beverages for sale. Customer service was very efficient & friendly. We ordered entrees- spring rolls & soup. Spring rolls were very small for the price. Tom Yum Soup with seafood was delicious- perfect balance of flavours & heat. For mains we ordered- a small bowl of steamed rice, thai green chicken curry, pad thai & pad prik thai on with seafood. The food was very tasty, fresh & flavoursome (definitely tastes authentic) and we had enough to take home for another meal. We did find the Pad Prik Thai on with seafood a little too salty for our tastes though.
Stick Rice is so yummy. But only the portion is really small, a little bit more rice and mango for 16 dollar. There is only a half side of mango en and 2 spoons rice…
