Joyful Restaurant has been open since 2010 and serves traditional Cantonese food and well known dishes from other parts of China. Their specialities include chilli pepper spare ribs, garlic king prawns, black pepper beef fillet steak, salt and chili pepper squid and Peking duck.
Owner and chef, Colin Ouyang, hails from Canton in Southern China and has more than 20 years experience as a chef. He started at the tender age of 18 as an apprentice in his sister's restaurant. He runs Joyful Restaurant with help from his lovely wife, Min.
Joyful is a cosy, clean and comfortable family run eatery that will make you feel right at home. Its unpretentious setting reflects the honest cooking that comes out of Colin's kitchen. The open kitchen is a rare feature in Chinese kitchens and stands as a testament to Colin's confidence in his and his staff's culinary skills.
Joyful is one retaurant that has managed to stubbornly cling to its culinary roots without any adaption or adulteration. As Colin says, 'We serve the real thing.No compromise!'
