The multi-arts organisation has been around for 36 years and continues to offers a rich cultural program of exhibitions, residencies, art courses, music and events on a historic site.
Catch a Sunday afternoon gig in the Summertime, showcasing everything from local bands and national touring acts to international bands. Find a spot in the courtyard and enjoy lunch from the café. Don’t forget to stop by the shop ‘Found’ for all things made in Western Australia.
Ask about the Finnerty Street site’s history. The building was originally the first lunatic asylum in Western Australia. Since then it has served as a women’s home, a naval base during both World Wars and a technical college before opening its doors as Fremantle Arts Centre in 1972.
