Fremantle Markets
Perth
Established in 1897, the Freemantle Markets have become one of the most popular and atmospheric weekend market places in Western Australia. Boasting “over 150 stalls under one roof”, visitors will be spoilt for choice as you stroll through the variety of goods on offer; from vintage clothing and furniture to pet toys. It wouldn’t be too surprising to find live music as you shop, with impromptu acts and singers appearing during the week. Take time out from your day to watch some of the performances, with dancers and entertainers the norm at the Markets.
Freemantle also take pride in promoting independent and indigenous art and bringing local artisans and craftsmen to the fore, with several shops dedicated to Aboriginal creative pieces; perfect souvenir items to take back home. What's more, the produce is all organically produced, sourced by local growers and sold by award-winning vendors.
