Marangaroo Golf Course
Perth
Golf
Designed by Murray Dawson and officially opened in 1988, Marangaroo is a course that will prove to be a test to amateurs and pros alike, and it is no wonder it has become one of the busiest 18 hole golf courses in Perth. As like most of his other course designs, Dawson has provided a gentle but still challenging layout that uses the natural shape of the bushland to create intimidating bunkers and blind tee-shot positions.
Measuring at 5,616 metres (6,177 yards) Marangaroo, as the name suggests, is also home to hundreds of kangaroos who are now so used to passing golfers that will laze in the sun nonchalantly; unless, of course, a wayward drive comes dangerously close. One hole that visitors should pay special attention is the 422-metre par five 11th, featuring a testing double dogleg over a narrow hill.
It is also well worth checking out their club fitting service, taking the guesswork out of choosing your next set of clubs. Here, a professional can assess your swing, posture, handicap and other attributes to help build a set of clubs around your abilities.
Opening times
