Description

Board a vintage diesel hydraulic tram at the historic Pemberton Railway Station and journey deep into one of Australia's most breathtaking forests. The Pemberton Tramway Cascade Tour is a 75-minute return trip through towering Karri country, across three magnificent historic bridges and into a pristine natural world that has captivated visitors for decades. As the tram winds its way south along the Pemberton to Northcliffe Railway, your knowledgeable driver brings the landscape to life with live commentary on the forest, the local timber industry and the remarkable pioneers who built this railway nearly a century ago. Keep an eye out for native flora and fauna along the tracks, and from September to November, the forest puts on a spectacular wildflower display that makes the journey even more memorable. Midway through the journey, the tram pauses for 25 minutes at the beautiful Cascades, where Lefroy Brook tumbles over a series of ancient rock formations deep in the forest. Step off, stroll to the viewing platforms, take in the sounds of the flowing water and breathe in the fresh Karri air before the tram returns you to Pemberton. For those who want to linger longer, the Walk Back Option lets you ride one way to the Cascades and return on foot via the world-famous Bibbulmun Track. You can walk 6km back to the Gloucester Tree or go the full 10km all the way back to the Station. Please advise the Station Officer if you plan to walk back. Dogs are warmly welcomed on board for $10 per dog. Wheelchair access is available via portable ramps at either end of the tram. Please advise staff prior to your tour if assistance is required.
