Such a disappointment. Let me be clear here… if you are going there and expecting it to be anywhere near the level of service/standard as Metropol in Melbourne you are going to be monumentally disappointed. Whilst the room was clean, good quality and great view, I paid top dollar for it. I can’t imagine the lower priced ones would be as acceptable. However, no water in the room, so much noise from the atrium they provide you with ear plugs and tbh just not the best feel - pretty much like the whole complex in comparison to the east coast offerings. Then the service was just 3* at best. Slow moving long queue at check in when I’d already checked in online. Had to go through everything again at the desk frustratingly. No real quality of service and then as a surprise for my partner I’d arranged champagne in the room. The desk clerk spoiled that surprise for a start and then it wasn’t in the room anyway nor when we returned after dinner and only arrived an hour after me chasing it. So poor. What was supposed to be a stress free nice stay was somewhat tarnished. Shame.
We recently stayed for 2 nights at Crown Metropol Perth in the Luxe King Spa Suite. Overall, it was a memorable and enjoyable stay, with some great highlights but also areas that definitely need improvement. The best part of the stay was the stunning outside view from our room — absolutely beautiful, especially during the evening. We also appreciated the valet parking service and the sparkling wine on arrival, which made us feel welcomed and added a touch of luxury to the experience. However, the room itself felt quite old and in need of a major upgrade. The carpet appeared stained and not very clean, and the furniture and furnishings looked outdated and worn. For a luxury suite at Crown Metropol, we expected a fresher and more modern room standard. Despite the room condition, we still had a relaxing and memorable 2-day stay thanks to the atmosphere, service, and amazing views. With some refurbishment and better maintenance, the Luxe King Spa Suite could truly match the premium experience the hotel aims to offer.
My family & i celebrated my 60th birthday at the Metropol, just before Christmas. My family surprised me with the afternoon spent at The Pavilion in 2 cabanas, which was lovely, aside from being told snacks weren't included. I decided to book a cabana for the next day, given there was no free space around the main pool, was good that I had. This experience was far from good. We initially waited 45 minutes before leaving this area to find a waiter, this kept happening. When I went to the service desk to ask for assistance a bit later, I was told the staff were very busy, hence us not getting service. My response was "yes but these people haven't paid $375 for the afternoon". We were also told that the snacks are complimentary, despite what we were told the previous day. I sent an email to suggest they consider having staff who focus on guests in The Pavilion. The response was an acknowledgement of my suggestion, & a token apology for lack of service. The service was terrible & the response lacking.
