We had a great experience and will definitely be back! The food was absolutely delicious, the cocktails were fantastic, and the venue has such a great atmosphere. It's a really lovely place to spend an evening. Originally, we were seated at a high table, but we found the stools were too low for the table height, making it a little uncomfortable. Thankfully, we were able to move, and the rest of the evening was great. The girls behind the bar were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and worked so hard to provide quick service, even though they were absolutely slammed. Our 1st round of cocktails did take around 30 minutes to arrive, but it was clear the staff were doing their best and remained positive and helpful throughout. The only suggestion I'd make is to have an extra staff member on Saturday nights. A dedicated bar back to run food and drinks, collect glasses, and keep up with washing would make a huge difference. I think that one extra person would easily take the service from 4/5 to 5/5. Overall, a fantastic venue with amazing food, delicious cocktails, and wonderful staff. We can't wait to come back!
he chef here is a real gem, serving up delicious food at prices that won't break the bank. The drink menu is equally impressive, with tasty cocktails and a variety of other options. But what really sets this place apart is the live music – enjoy jazz on Tuesdays, blues on Thursdays, and a acoustic vibe every Saturday night. Plus, happy hour is always a bonus!
What a surprise, my partner suggested we have a date night at Hemingway and Co because a friend had mentioned it to her a few months back. We travelled from Roleystone to Mundaring which is about a 45 minute drive. So glad we made the effort to get off our backsides on a Thursday night to go and see some fantastic musicians jamming the night away. I love live music and help run The Roleystone Musicians Club, so for me, it's the perfect place for a date night. Unfortunately for my partner though, I became very fond of the well made delicious cocktails on the menu and responsibly declined to drive home. The food we ordered was also delicious, well prepared and well priced considering there is free entertainment of this quality.. Hemingway is much smaller than we expected, but it added to the personalised atmosphere. The decor has that small, hidden, smoked jazz club feel to it, "minus the smoke". I actually said to my partner after consuming 1 or 2 sour whiskey sours that I'd love to open and run one myself. Might have to talk to the owner one day about a franchise, lol. I would highly recommend booking a table because there is a limited amount of seating, and as word gets out I think it's going to get harder and harder to get to enjoy this gem of a place. I was also considering not leaving a review because I selfishly don't want to share my "secrete" venue but felt it was my duty as an avid music lover and supporter for musicians to be able to earn a living and share this to help small business that have the same passion to be able to continue doing what they also love to do. This would be the perfect place to book for a bus load of 30-50 responsible guests to enjoy for a celebration or work function. Whatever you decide, I'm sure you'll enjoy what Hemingway & CO have to offer. My lovely partner and I will definitely be returning with a few more friends very soon.
Loved this place! It’s super cozy with a great vibe. The food and drinks were amazing, and the staff were so friendly. Service was quick and everyone seemed happy to be there. Definitely coming back soon!
