I went to Kailis for lunch. I ordered the seafood chowder, served in a huge sourdough bun. The centre is hollowed out and the chowder is served in the bun. The top of the bun is buttered with a generous portion of garlic butter and served on the side for you to soak up the sauce. It is one of the more popular dishes. I was not disappointed. The portion size and filling is very generous and very flavoursome. Very good value for money. I would go back again for the same.

Kailis Fishmarket Café, Fremantle 🐟 A busy, casual seafood café with both indoor and outdoor seating. It’s a self-service setup, so don’t expect a full-service dining experience. The food was decent, but honestly, it wasn’t the best seafood we’ve had. Still, it’s a nice, relaxed place to enjoy some seafood in a casual setting, especially if you’re around Fremantle. If you choose to sit outside, be careful of the seagulls—they are definitely not shy about coming over to see what you’re eating! 😂 Overall, a good place for a casual seafood meal, but I wouldn’t go specifically for the food. ★★★☆☆ (3/5)

You come here for the views and the atmosphere. You have to order hot and cold separately. Which is something to keep in mind if want your food to come out in a particular way. We got two grilled Fish and chips. It's nice. Very well cooked. The flavour is very garlic forward. Chippies were very well cooked. I did expect a few more chips, however it was nice. To note, Chips are very lightly salted, however there are plenty of shakers around House made tartare, imho, not worth the additional costs. It does not have much flavour. Gravy is too runny and plain in flavour, yet it's nice with the chips. Mushy peas are unique. I am not sure how I feel about these, again not much flavour and a bit dry. A bit vinegary Oysters were nice and a good size. Got the Kilpatrick and they have a nice bbq flavour The scallops were the highlight. Incredibly well cooked and nice flavour. The salads are nice, definitely over priced but it's nice to have a lighter side. Drinks are reasonably priced, just can be hard to get someone's attention at times. Plenty of seating. Would be nice if people didn't feed the Gulls....please do not feed the Gulls. Overall, touristy area with a great view. Just be prepared for average seafood at tourist prices.

Kailis Brothers Seafood at Fishing Boat Harbour in Fremantle is definitely worth a visit. It is very busy on weekends, so recommend getting there early or try a weekday. There is an enormous range of seafood options available, catering to just about every taste, whether you prefer freshly BBQ’d seafood or classic fried favourites. The venue is very well set out, with separate sections for fried food and BBQ meals, making ordering simple and efficient. There’s also a dedicated alcoholic bar along with a dessert and coffee section. The restaurant offers both indoor and outdoor seating. While the outdoor area has lovely fresh air and great waterfront views, the birds can be quite persistent if you’re eating outside, so it’s something to keep in mind. Inside seating is comfortable and spacious, and the entire venue, including the toilets, was impressively clean. Service operates via a buzzer system, which worked smoothly and meant no waiting around wondering when your meal would arrive. There are also assorted salts and vinegars available to help yourself to, while extras such as mayonnaise and tartare sauce can be purchased separately. We ordered the BBQ platter and asked if the fish kebabs could be swapped for fried fish, which the staff were more than happy to accommodate. The seafood was exceptionally fresh, beautifully cooked, and generous in portion size. A fantastic spot for casual seafood dining with plenty of variety and a relaxed atmosphere.

Had a great meal at Kailis Fishmarket Cafe. The atmosphere was fantastic, with both indoor and outdoor seating available, and a beautiful waterfront setting. It’s a relaxed, casual spot where you can easily choose where to sit depending on your preference. I ordered a seafood and chips platter (fish, prawns, scallops, calamari and hot chips), and everything was fresh and delicious. The scallops were especially large and impressive. It’s a great sharing option, especially for a light lunch. The food is ordered in a self-service style, which makes everything quick and easy. It also feels very family-friendly, with simple, approachable options on the menu. The banana split was a nice nostalgic touch, something that reminded me of childhood desserts that you don’t often see anymore. Overall, a perfect spot for casual seafood with great views, generous portions, and a relaxed atmosphere.
