This place was booked with value in mind. It was the cheapest accomodation we could find and well, it did the trick. It’s in a prime location, across the road from the gorgeous ocean. It has a bed, a spa (at the entrance), a shower and a table and chairs. There’s a TV and fridge too. The bed was apparently a Queen size, but I swear it was a bit smaller. The bathroom was dated but if it were renovated the price would make accommodation more restrictive, so it was a case of ‘suck it up princess’. It would be nice if the windows were cleaner, but again, this would increase the price. It’s a shame though, because there were amazing views from the bedroom. Additionally, if you’re looking at staying here on a Friday night, be mindful that the pub next door plays live music…
This was my first time at Ocean Beach Hotel served by the lovely Erin and Eimear who went above and beyond to serve my family and me. They recommended the St paddy drink which went down a treat. Fab service, the girls were so wonderful! Will be back!
We ordered the seafood special, shark Bay whiting $23.00. It's an entree, not a meal. No indication it was an entree. Probably should be called Shark Bay Whitebait, such was the size of the whiting and meal. Beautiful to eat if you don't inhale it in the first bite. Eat from the mains menu if you can. Service and atmosphere is excellent.
We used this hotel for the first time for a much needed wedding anniversary break. Loved the room as soon as we walked in! Booked through booking.com and when we got there it was a lovely surprise to find we had been allocated an ocean views room with a spa bath!! 😃 The hotel is literally across the road to the beach and there is a beautiful lawn area with trees to sit and read or chat. Some lovely food and coffee outlets within a couple of minutes stroll! Yay!! The staff were friendly, and while it is an older hotel, it is very clean and the bed is super comfy. The room is huge and has a table and chairs as well as a reading chair. We are enjoying a very happy stay indeed and have already decided that we will definitely be back in the future! The fact that it has a car park was a huge selling point! No lying awake worrying about the car!! It also has a lift in case stairs are too hard. Keep up the great work Ocean Beach Hotel!👍😄
