Went to the Natiinal today... been going there for years off and on. Love my time up on the balcony, glass of wine, reading the paper! Asked the young guy with bleached blonde hair for a glass of merlot . . Only had cab merlot.. all good! He bought a bottle from the shelf, which had not even a 1/4 of the bottle, so I asked for a fresh bottle! I didn't know how long that other bottle had been there!!!!... His whole attitude changed, did not look at me.... when I was leaving, I said thankyou and he pretty much just grunted at me, with his back to me!! I was very disappointed..... I'm not sure if it's an age thing ( I am in my 60's) usually the staff have been lovely when I go for little reprieve on the balcony, but this guy was just RUDE!!... Don't worry, I'll be back in couple months, I love that balcony!! 🙂
Lovely lady on check in, took us to our room, explained about car parking. Big room with large wet room bathroom. Soft sheets and comfy bed. Amazing food and great atmosphere. Right in centre of city, easy access to beach, round house, shops, cafes and bars.
Had lunch on the rooftop with half a dozen friends... it was fantastic. The view was unbeatable, and every single person commented on how delicious their meal was. The staff were super-nice.
The food in the Service in level one Restaurant is excellent. However, there was no security up here and there were three or four people that screamed and yelled about the football just to annoy every single person in the Restaurant. Disgusting: Where are you going to go to the Honkytonk there? I will be there. Do you want to walk over now? Have you finished? needs to be sorted..
We stayed in the King Suite with wrap around balcony for my birthday. This place is amazing in every way! The period details of the entire hotel and in our room were fantastic and the staff couldn't have been more helpful. The bathroom was incredible, we felt very spoiled being able to watch tv in the bath. We watched the sunset from the rooftop bar and then had dinner downstairs and I think the parmi was one of the best I have ever had. The location right in the heart of Fremantle was great. If there was any fault it was the water pressure in the shower was lacking but it didn't detract from our stay there. We would definitely stay here again!
