I walked in the afternoon as I was craving for their seafood. Place is lovely, nice atmosphere, the food player came ordered came pretty fast. The staff was friendly and welcoming. The seafood platter was enough for 2 people and had enough to take home as well. We enjoyed the seafood platter and drinks. Thank you for the great service & fabuliocious food. ❤️
This was my first visit to The Cray & I absolutely loved it. I thoroughly recommend the Seafood Chowder - it was so tasty & I couldn't get enough of it. The spaghetti Marinara was delicious as was the creamy Fettucini with Prawns & Scallops. The service was wonderful- the staff were all so welcoming with a warm & friendly smile whilst eager to assist. I can't fault anything. Will definitely be back.
Nice looking restaurant & decor, service very nice. Lunch special $33 lobster roll with chips & some leafy green tasted ok, but not memorably delicious - not great value, but in the scheme of most other hot lobster dish options is honestly a bit cheaper. Lobster itself tasted ok, tho a little sparse, & over-spiced. Very limited gluten-free options unfortunately, & not as many varied lobster options as expected. Still, worth a try.
Had a lunch special here recently. I had 3 courses for $50 and wife had 4 for $60. The venue is deceptively large inside despite it looking small from outside. It is well decorated with some large fish tanks that add a bit of interest. We shared the garlic bread that came with my wife’s meal. It was tasty. We had one slice each. We both had the calamari for entree. There were 6 large pieces and we both enjoyed them very much. My wife had the crayfish risotto for her main. It was nicely presented in a half crayfish shell. She liked it very much. I had the ocean plate which was a pan fried medley of fish pieces, a couple of prawns a couple of calamari served on a bed of mash. I was disappointed in the main. The fish and seafood as dry and rubbery. It was also a bit on the tepid side so I suspect was sitting in the warmer for a while. Portions were on the small side. For desert she had the chocolate brownie which she said tasted like sponge cake. I had the sticky date pudding which also had a similar sponginess and not the dense texture you expect for a sticky date pudding. So the experience was a little mixed on this first visit.
It’s a little pricey but worth it every once in a while! We dined at lunch on a quiet Saturday. Service was attentive, friendly, and helpful, and the restaurant is spacious and beautifully designed. We normally get the platters but we got individual meals this time. Serving sizes were fair for the price.
