Excellent steakhouse inside the Duxton Hotel. Excellent service from a predominantly French serving team. Great banter with white linen service. The steak was superb and so was the barossa red wine.
We celebrated our wedding anniversary at FireWater Grille and had a wonderful dining experience. The 500g ribeye was cooked to perfection—tender, juicy, and full of flavour. It paired beautifully with a glass of red wine, making the meal even more enjoyable. The service was excellent, and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming, which made our special occasion even more memorable. We highly recommend Firewall Restaurant for anyone looking for a great steak and a fantastic dining experience.
Buffet breakfast after overnight stay. Barnstaple coffee is extra charge but our cappuccino and flat white were lovely but server goes around with tea and coffee also. Food was nice but could have been hotter. Lamb sausages so I didn't eat them so would have been nice to have other options but that's just personal preference. Bacon was very pale so would be nice to have it cooked more with some actual colour on it. Egg station if you want but scrambled eggs on buffet were nice. Quite a lot of choices from cereals, cheeses and meats, yoghurt and hot selections including baked beans.
10/10 experience. I booked their bottomless package and a time was had. The food was amazing, I ate so much I was stuffed by the end of the 2 hours. The bottomless drinks were bottomless indeed. I highly recommend their bottomless lunch.
We decided to give the Duxton Hotel’s Firewater Grill a go for their Bottomless Brunch… and honestly—wow (see evidence below 👇). The choice is ridiculous (in a good way). Fresh fruit and yoghurts if you’re pretending to be healthy, quickly followed by cold meats, salads, king prawns and cheeses. Then straight into the serious stuff—soup, roast beef, Yorkshire puddings, crispy roast potatoes and all the veg. And as if that wasn’t enough, you also get to order a freshly made main from the menu… because clearly we hadn’t eaten enough already. Just when you think you’re done… along comes the dessert table—an amazing selection of cakes and a very comforting apple crumble (pictured… and very much demolished). And yes, it really is bottomless—prosecco on repeat, plus vodka mimosas and Bloody Marys with plenty of fresh juices to keep things interesting (hydration is important after all 🍹). All this for $65… which frankly feels like daylight robbery (in our favour). Safe to say, we didn’t so much leave… as roll out. Dinner Club verdict: outstanding value, maximum indulgence… stretchy waistbands recommended
