Second time visiting Sunsets, they have a great selection of wines and a food menu with great variety. Very chill atmosphere, loved being able to move to the lounges after dinner to sit by the fire. The venue was extremely busy due to a couple of large groups, but all the staff were still very nice and accomodating.
Lunch at Sunsets Bar & Dining at The Lodge Wadjemup was excellent. Beautiful view overlooking the water with a really relaxed atmosphere. The lamb was tender, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. Paired it with a mojito that was great in the heat. Definitely worth stopping at while on Rottnest Island.
This was my second time trying the restaurant. The space is big, beautifully designed, light, and airy, with fantastic views out the back. I was extremely impressed with the gluten-free desserts! We had the chocolate cheesecake with berries the other day, which was amazing, and today we tried the brownie with pear and crème fraîche. It was absolutely delicious! Super, super delicious. The fish and chips were very good, and the fish itself was excellent. The calamari would have been better without the dusting of spice—they really don't need it.
Staff, lovely. Too many flavourless chips (paprika on its own doesn't do much but add colour) under the fish (two small bits of fish), hamburger tasted great. Atmosphere was so weird, not enough seating to see the sunset, too many seats out the back where it felt like a canteen and cold hearted. The Spritz glasses were tiny! Why such small glasses for just as expensive drinks as other places on rotto. Glad they kept the trees in there though! Also the music was so awfully loud, the performer man was great but it was so loud we couldn't try enjoy anything. Not for me, thanks.
