We had an amazing time hiking and ended up at this fantastic spot! The food was incredibly delicious - the steaks, parmigiana, and voodoo loaded chips were all cooked to perfection. We had a tough time deciding where to sit, with so many unique options to choose from, including near the fireplace, in the library room, on the enclosed terrace, by the pub, outside near the gardens, or in the amphitheatre. The pub itself is steeped in history, with so many extra details everywhere, showcasing a design aesthetic that's rarely seen anymore. From the old trombone to the genuine gramophone, antiques, and old paintings, to the impressive wall plate collection, every aspect of this place is truly remarkable. It's definitely one of my top picks in Perth!
We camped at Hills Forest campground, walked here along the bibbulman track, had a gorgeous lunch in the sunroom, down to Mundaring Weir, back up here for icecream in the garden, and a hike back to camp! What a gorgeous, relaxed day out, the food, location and charm of the grand old building were wonderful.
Absolutely delicious flank steak cooked to perfection, great wings without any crappy coating, lovely outdoor spot in the shade on a summer's day with a glass of Pinot Grigio, next time will bring the pooch too as they're dog friendly ☺️
A great time! Food is made well and delicious. I love the level the cheese is cooked to on the parmigiana - utter perfection! The parmigiana itself was also amazing, as was the fish. Chips are great. Also probably the most different types of seating options I've seen in a venue. You have options such as inside, near the pub, outside nears some well kept gardens, or in an amphitheatre. You can also shoot some hoops when the rings are available! Honestly one of my favourite venues in Perth!
