The whole restaurant is absolutely stunning, and the food definitely shined. All the ingredients were extremely fresh, and the flavours complemented each other perfectly. The only dish we didn’t particularly enjoy was the kingfish. The fish itself was beautifully fresh, but we felt the components didn’t quite work together and the dish was a little too bland for our taste. Other than that, it was a perfect dinner. Everything else was absolutely delicious, and we thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
We originally came to Avalon for their Wednesday steak night and enjoyed it so much that we came back two more times! On our first visit we shared the T-bone, which was absolutely delicious - beautifully cooked and full of flavour. But a special mention has to go to the desserts, which were amazing. Incredible presentation and genuinely some of the highlights of our visits. We were looked after by Mania, who was fantastic. She was incredibly friendly, attentive and welcoming and really added to our experience. She mentioned that Avalon was having a truffle night the following evening, and we enjoyed our first night so much that we decided to come straight back the next night. Truffle night was brilliant. The moment we walked through the door, the whole place smelt of truffles! The food was excellent and again beautifully presented, and it was a completely different experience from steak night. There was also a pianist playing on both of those nights, which created a wonderful atmosphere and made the evenings feel that little bit more special. We then came back for a third visit on another Wednesday for steak night, this time to celebrate a family member getting their driver’s licence. The team surprised us with “Congratulations” written on the dessert plate, which was such a lovely touch. Three visits in a short space of time probably says it all. Fantastic food, amazing desserts, wonderful service and a great atmosphere. A special thank you to Mania for looking after us so well. Avalon has very quickly become a favourite, and we’ll definitely be back!
I really wanted to love this place. It has a sleek modern look to be it. Very nice staff and customer service. My partner loved Kyle on the piano. Our starter, the charcoal eggplant dish and bread started us off with a bang. My partner's lamb back strap was very good. However my ribeye was a disappointment. Cooked rare just how I asked, but they went a bit too far getting a crust/char on it. It had an astringent after taste that really took away from the steak. Granted I could have tried the sauce that came with it, but if you need to use a sauce to make a steak taste good, it's a bad steak.
We came here for our anniversary, and the entire evening was flawless. The service was excellent from start to finish. For the mains, my partner is incredibly picky about steak, but it was outstanding-tender, juicy, and cooked to absolute perfection. I had the duck and thoroughly enjoyed every bite. We started with the bread and ordered a bottle of red wine; it was a highlight to have it decanted while sharing an exciting, in-depth conversation about wine with their sommelier. For sides, the broccolini and hand-cut chips were great accompaniments. Then came dessert, which was truly out of this world! Hats off to the kitchen team and especially the pastry chef. We finished our evening full, satisfied, and loved wrapping up the night with a wonderful conversation with Valentine. We couldn't have asked for a better anniversary celebration! We will be back for the Degustation Menu !!!! Thank you !!!
A very warm welcome as soon as we walked into Avalon, and the food didn’t disappoint 🍷😍 The beef fillet was cooked to perfection and the flavours surrounding the rotisserie chicken were so yummy!!! We were well looked after through our dinner especially by Gary who shared a few recommendations with us.
