Description
Embark on a guided 11-kilometer hike to Abyssinia Rock, a hidden gem on the Bibbulmun Track. Admire the views of the Monadnocks of the Darling Range and enjoy a delicious morning tea on the rock. Start your adventure by taking a slightly uphill trail through dense jarrah and she-oak bushland, filled with grass trees, banksias, and a variety of wildflowers. After a couple of kilometers, the trail narrows and starts to wind across a ridge. As you continue, a break in the trees to the south gives you a glimpse of the amazing views to come. Following the Wagyl, begin to make your way downhill to the giant granite dome – Abyssinia Rock. Admire the views of the Monadnocks of the Darling Range and enjoy a delicious morning tea on the rock. - What to Bring: Backpack with 2-3L of water | Camera | Personal first aid/medications | Hat, sunscreen & insect repellent | Sturdy hiking or walking shoes | Raincoat & warm layer | A sense of adventure & a big smile! Terrain: Total hike distance is 11kms, the terrain is relatively flat and graded as level 3 terrain. There is one short ascent/descent but the rest of the terrain is quite flat and even. The trail is achievable for most people with a reasonable level of fitness but no hiking experience necessary. Accessibility: Suitable for people living with a cognitive disability/autism, and low hearing. May also be suitable for some people with low vision or other disabilities; please contact us to discuss your ability and we will do our best to adapt our experience so you can join in the adventure!
