Description
Leave the city behind and discover the raw beauty of Western Australia on this full-day Pinnacles Sunset & Stargazing Tour – a magical blend of coastal landscapes, desert wonders, native wildlife, and night-sky magic. Timed perfectly to avoid the daytime crowds and capture the golden hour at the Pinnacles, this journey promises a truly unforgettable experience.
Departing Perth, we head north through scenic bushland and charming country towns. After around 1.5 hours, we stop at Guilderton Lookout – a stunning viewpoint perched above the Indian Ocean and Moore River. Offering panoramic views over vast sand dunes and turquoise coastline, it’s a peaceful and photogenic alternative to the currently closed Lancelin dunes.
From here, we journey into wildflower country, with a seasonal visit to Nilgen Nature Reserve. If in bloom, the area becomes a vibrant tapestry of native flora like kangaroo paws, banksias, and grass trees – a haven for local wildlife and photographers alike. Out of season, we explore the tranquil shores of Hangover Bay, where you can dip your toes in crystal-clear waters or spot dolphins and sea lions playing just offshore.
As the afternoon winds down, we arrive at Nambung National Park, home to the otherworldly Pinnacles Desert. These ancient limestone formations, created from seashells over millions of years, rise mysteriously from the golden sands. As the sun sets, the desert comes alive in shades of gold, pink, and deep blue – a perfect time to wander among the spires and capture the surreal beauty of this natural wonder.
After sunset, enjoy a locally sourced picnic dinner under the stars, complete with a glass of sparkling wine. With minimal light pollution, the Pinnacles becomes one of WA’s best stargazing locations. Weather permitting, you’ll use our telescope to spot constellations, planets, and even the occasional meteor. Your guide will also share Aboriginal Dreamtime stories and explain traditional interpretations of the night sky, connecting you to the ancient spirit of this land.
Whether you're a nature lover, night-sky enthusiast, or simply looking for a unique day trip from Perth, the Pinnacles Sunset & Stargazing Tour is a truly magical way to experience the wonders of Western Australia – from land, to sea, to stars.
