We really enjoyed our 1 night stay. The staff were friendly & efficient. Our dinner at the restaurant was delicious & breakfast in the morning - was really nice too. The room was clean & comfortable & the setting beside the river makes the stay even nicer. We will definitely be back.
Environment is a huge factor to dine here: green trees, yellow flowers opposite from July onwards, the soothing sound of running water, photo ops galore (I didn't get the best angles), nature to keep the kids busy, plenty of sunlit or shaded spaces to sit. Fenced Playground. Fireplace burning on the cooler deck area. 5 stars. Easy access carpark. Service was friendly, and helpful. 5 stars. Also has kids menu (ask!) + colouring. The food is where I dropped a star: the pizza crust turned hard and crusty when we let it turn cold. I usually love cold pizza 😆 toppings was generous, though. Portions were commensurate with pricing, but the flavours were middling. We tried beef brisket chips (rather dry overall, beef was fine), linguine (lacked tastiness despite juicy fresh tomatoes & enough parmesan), pizza (turned genuinely hard when cooled, cheese was overly salty (!), sharing platter - the red cabbage sauerkraut lacked any tang, the calamari needed to be cut thicker to hold flavour & tenderness. However, on a beautiful day the environment and portions make up for it and we would come back to try other dishes.
Very busy Monday holiday but they fitted us in without a booking. Food came fairly quickly, good selection of wine and beers and the best feature for us no screamingly loud music which was so refreshing. Didn't have to raise our voices to hear each other loved it. Beautiful position and the onsite accommodation looks really comfy and country like just a stones throw from the city We will definitely return
Such a gorgeous spot — we’ve visited twice over the last couple of years and the setting truly is magical. Unfortunately, the food has let us down each time. We hadn’t rated our meals on previous visits but decided to give it another try today, hoping things may have improved. Sadly, it was still underwhelming. I ordered the steak sandwich from the specials board, especially as it was advertised as “back by popular demand,” so I thought it would be a safe choice. My wife ordered the salt and pepper squid. Unfortunately, both meals arrived cold. The chips were cold, the steak sandwich was missing both the cheese and spinach listed, and the sirloin steak itself was very overcooked. The squid was also cold and heavily drenched in a yellow mayonnaise. It would have been much nicer served on the side so the flavour of the salt and pepper squid could actually come through. Even the coffee arrived only lukewarm. It’s disappointing because the venue itself is absolutely beautiful and has so much potential, but the quality of the food simply doesn’t match the setting. We paid $63 for lunch and left feeling quite disappointed. Next time, we’ll probably just stop in for a cold drink and enjoy the view.
Gorgeous location beside the river beneath the hills. Love being so close to water birds and outside. Amazing food. This visit I had the waffles with bacon and fried chicken, so good! I had the Eggs Benedict Bowl last time and it was also fantastic. Oh and check out the artwork in the foyer and on the toilet doors :-)
