Love this place so much and regularly visit but unfortunately had a bad experience yesterday. Very kindly asked a staff member to clean a dirty table and I even apologised in advance for bothering her - to which she responded "Yeah I'm getting to it" with a sassy attitude. So I politely stood to the side waiting while I watched her clean another table first (that was unoccupied btw) then slowly walk BOH (I'm assuming to wash the cloth) but no sense or urgency whatsoever. I started cleaning my own table with a napkin then she came up behind me and said "I said I was going to do it" so I said, "well you walked off and I would think that the priority is to clean the table a customer is waiting for?" and apparently that's where I crossed the line. She said "excuse me??? I was cleaning another table" when I reminded her that basic customer service is at least being polite. She then rolled her eyes and said "I guess that's just your perception isn't it". Honestly I just didn't respond from that point because why would I? I'm not there to argue and also, where are basic customer service skills gone?! I don't care to wait a bit (when it actually makes sense), but the attitude was appalling. Disappointing to have a staff member like that there when everyone else is so nice. Made me want to leave and go somewhere else but I already planned to go there with a friend. Food was great as always but I hope I don't have this experience there again.
I just wanted to leave a review for the lovely blonde staff member who served me yesterday. Unfortunately, I didn't catch her name, but she was absolutely amazing. She was so kind, friendly, and welcoming, and she genuinely made my visit a great experience. Her customer service went above and beyond, and you can tell she really cares about the people she serves. I hope this review reaches her because she truly deserves to be recognised for her hard work. Staff members like her make people want to come back. Thank you for having such a wonderful person on your team!
Great spot to have a drink and get a decent meal, however be wary with your timings. Often this Varsity is packed due to events, games, quiz nights and other events during the evenings. In saying this, food is always quick and of good quality. The vibe is always great, however if you can snag a quiet time, it is a really pleasant spot to visit. The burgers and salads are always consistently nice, and service is usually ok! Great to see this Varsity so well used.
Was a great place to visit and catch up with friends. The kids tagged along and found some fun in the arcade. Food was what you would expect as pub grub. All round a great time and the staff were accommodating. Next time we are in the area I will visit again! Doxx
Phenomenal place, love the friendly staff. Quiz nights are my favourite, as they always have a great atmosphere. One of the best sports bars in Western Australia. Food is superb and consistent.
