Such a fabulous dining experience! I came here with a friend tonight, and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The dressing with the lamb skewers was absolutely divine, the honey prawns gorgeous, and the dessert .... just wow! And the wait staff were all so very friendly and helpful, the decor and atmosphere really nice. Only comment, but no means a criticism, is that the sides, such as the potatoes are very large. We share the crispy potatoes with two people, and had plenty leftover. We probably would have ordered more different sides and spent more money as a result if the sizes had been slightly smaller, and the prices therefore per side dish slightly lower. That way we would have had more variety. Same with the dessert. Huge!! But if there are 4 or so of you, this would be absolutely perfect for sharing. We will definitely be back.
Souq is honestly one of the most underrated restaurants in Perth. The food is absolutely incredible — full of flavour, beautifully prepared, and every dish feels special. It’s the kind of place you visit once and immediately wonder why more people aren’t talking about it. The atmosphere is personal, vibrant, and full of life, which makes the whole experience even better. The service is genuinely lovely, and you’re always welcomed with a smile. You can really feel the passion and care that goes into the restaurant. If you’re in Perth and love Middle Eastern food, Sooq is an absolute must. Congratulations to the chef and the whole team for creating such an amazing place. I’ll definitely be coming back! ❤️
Nice atmosphere and warm prompt service, but the food unfortunately is a major disappointment. The hummus portion was really small and served in a weird tiny plate that makes it very awkward to serve from or dip into. All of which would’ve been somewhat ok if the taste was good, but it tasted quite bland and had strange runny consistency. For a dip so common and so popular, it should be a safe bet. The arayes was cooked ok, the meat was falling off the bread as soon as we picked it up which made it awkward to eat. Would’ve been ok if the taste made up for it, but the meat was way over seasoned with cumin and it overpowered the meat flavor that you almost couldn’t tell what you were eating. The kafta seemed to have the same seasoning as the arayes, but it was also cold and raw in the middle while charred on the outside. Uncooked. Batata harra again was over seasoned and hard to eat. The grilled chicken was very good, and so was the samak harra. The flat bread was also good, but why would you serve it with a few drops of olive oil and a tiny sprinkle of zaatar. Might as well not serve the oil and zaatar. Had high hopes of this place serving delicious middle eastern dishes cooked in contemporary style, which would’ve made the inflated prices palatable, but it was such a disappointment.
Mediterranean charm meets urban sophistication, with vibrant Middle Eastern flavours reimagined in the most beautiful contemporary way. Bold spices, fresh seasonal ingredients, and dishes made for sharing… definitely coming back for more.
Had a really lovely experience here. The man at the front door was very friendly, polite, and helpful made us feel at home straight away. The ambience is beautiful and comfortable. Service was great throughout. We ordered prawns, salad, and a platter, and everything was delicious and full of flavour. I believe when people are happy from the heart, it shows in everything and you can feel that here. Thank you for a wonderful experience, will definitely come back 😊
