Cathedral Rocks Viewing Platform offers spectacular coastal views with dramatic cliffs and powerful ocean waves. It’s a fantastic place to take in the rugged beauty of the coastline and, if you’re lucky, spot some wildlife. An easy stop that’s definitely worth visiting.
Not bad, but the outcrop with the seals is at quite a distance, and the two binoculars here are very faded and old. Probably bring your own pair if you've got one!
Seals are all chilling on a big rock a few hundred metres out. gotta really zoom in on the rocks to see the seals. Bring a zoom lens or binoculars
Great views. If you are taking the hop on hop off bus, do make this one of the pit stops. However, if you are cycling here, may have to give it a miss if you are not strong cyclists as it is at the other end of the island. Remember to bring a jacket as it can get quite windy. Spotting a seal is dependent on your luck. When we went, there was only 1 seal and it was quite hard to spot it at first. You can use the binoculars on the platform to try and spot them.
Cathedral Rocks is honestly one of the most beautiful spots on Rottnest Island. The viewing platform gives you such an incredible sight of the ocean, the cliffs, and the New Zealand fur seals relaxing and playing in the water below. Watching them in their natural home is something truly special. The breeze, the sound of the waves, and that stunning view all come together to make it an unforgettable moment. If you’re on Rotto, this is definitely a place you don’t want to miss.
