Delicious. I have food allergies and they were fantastic with making the share plates a great experience for me and my husband (no allergies). We enjoyed every dish. (Sorry was so excited to taste the large share I forgot to photo it 😆, but can recommendthe duck)
Lontara beautifully marries the refined, aromatic soul of Indonesian cuisine with the relaxed luxury of Rottnest Island. Each dish is a sensory awakening, balancing vibrant spice with the crisp freshness of the Indian Ocean breeze. Even a curious local quokka paused by the deck, seemingly enchanted by the ambient glow and the sweet scent of lemongrass. It is a magical sanctuary where sophisticated gastronomy and island charm coexist in perfect harmony
We had a wonderful dinner experience. The food was exceptional — fusion cuisine can sometimes be disappointing, but this was unbelievably delicious. The soft shell crab was perfectly fried and paired beautifully with the special sauce on the side. The char siu lamb shoulder was outstanding — it elevated the traditional char siu flavour to another level. Rich, smoky, and incredibly aromatic, with the fat and charcoal fragrance melting together in your mouth. Absolutely delicious. The barramundi also had a strong, appealing charcoal flavour — even better if there was just a touch more of it! Special thanks to Philip for his excellent service — warm, attentive, and made us feel truly welcomed like valued guests. The restaurant’s ambience was stylish yet relaxing, creating a comfortable and peaceful dining environment. A perfect way to end our time at Rottnest Island.
Amazing dining experience as always. Just the two of us so chose to experience a number of the smaller dishes with the waiter's recommendations exceptional. Yummy special surprise for our anniversary too.
A marked difference between the loud noise of the bar side and a quieter atmosphere in the lounge and bar area. Pool looked great but not the classy 5 star look. Food was pretty standard and I think there was more food on the outside of the menu located on the bar then there was on offer. Also badly presented looked like a 12 year old rushly typed. 13$ a schooner of local pilsner is a rediculous price and they have trippled the tax on that.
